Late last Friday, the New Jersey General Assembly scheduled a hearing on the IHRA antisemitism bill (A3558). The bill will be heard by the Assembly Committee on State and Local Government on Thursday, July 24 at 11:00 AM in Trenton.

We urgently need your support. Please take two important actions to help advance this vital legislation:

1. Email Speaker Coughlin and Chair Karabinchak

Send separate emails to:

  • Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin
  • Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak, Chair of the State and Local Government Committee

Use the message below or personalize your note. Your outreach will show appreciation for their leadership in advancing the fight against antisemitism.

Sample Message:

Dear [Speaker Coughlin / Chair Karabinchak],

Thank you for your leadership and commitment to combating antisemitism by advancing A3558 — the IHRA antisemitism bill — to a hearing this Thursday in the General Assembly State and Local Government Committee.

Your efforts to stand up against hate and support the Jewish community are deeply appreciated.

2. Attend the July 24 Hearing in Trenton

At a previous hearing on June 23, opponents of the IHRA definition of antisemitism significantly outnumbered supporters. The bill was tabled.

We cannot let that happen again.

Please attend the July 24 hearing to show strong, visible support for A3558.

  • Location: State House Annex, Committee Room 16, 4th Floor, 125 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08625
  • Time: Plan to arrive between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM to ensure entry, as a large turnout is expected.

Thank you for standing up and speaking out. Your advocacy is critical to ensuring a safe, inclusive future for our community.
